The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 333 MERRITT, Thomas Edward WWII Thomas enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps on January 9, 1940 and served in Canada, the USA and the Mediterranean area until his discharge with the rank of L/CP. After the war, he married Christine in 1949 and they had four children. They lived in Sheho for about fifteen years and Thomas was the Postmaster. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion Sheho Branch in 1950 and served as Secretary Treasurer for sixteen years. Thomas passed away on April 6, 1973. MEYER, Clayton WWII Clayton was born on January 23, 1914 in Dilke, SK. He went with his parents to the Jordan River, BC area in 1934. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on May 22, 1943 and served as an Aero Engine Mechanic in Canada until his discharge in 1946. After the war, he became a partner in Bradshaw’s Garage and later owned his own garage. In 1954, he accepted a position with the Federal Government in Ottawa, ON. Clayton passed away in 1961. MICHEL, Philip Louis Samuel WWII Philip was born in 1917 in Big River, SK. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1936 flying a Canso Sea Plane. He served in Canada, England, Europe and Norway until 1949. Philip passed away in 2002.
