He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941 specializing as a Wireless Operator. He graduated as a Pilot Officer in September 1943 and was deployed to India in August 1944 where the Canadians were preparing to stop the Japanese advancement through Burma. He served in Canada, Alaska, England, Burma and India. Mike married Ethel Andre in June 1946 and raised five children. He was active on many political, agricultural and community organizations. Mike passed away on November 24, 2006 at the age of eighty-six. MELROSE, Gerald WWII Gerald was born in 1920 in Arborfield, SK. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps, 65 Tank Transport on June 19, 1941, served as a Tank Driver in Canada and was injured in a truck accident at Camp Borden on February 4, 1942. He received his discharge on May 12, 1942. After the war, he married and moved to Edmonton where he was a Commissionaire. Gerald passed away in 1960. MELVIN, Ralph Edgar WWII Ralph was born in 1923 in Webb, SK. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada and England. Ralph passed away in 2002.
