The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 325 McQUARRIE, Alex WWII Alex was born in 1909 and grew up on the family farm at Macrorie, SK. In 1939, he joined the Army in the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers Division. He was discharged in 1945, and in 1946, Alex married Jean Sandercock of Balcarres, SK. They had no family. He worked in a machine shop in Regina until his passing in 1972. Jean passed away in 1981. McQUARRIE, James Harrison “Jim” WWII Jim was born on October 3, 1912 to William and Ellen McQuarrie on the family farm at Macrorie, SK. Jim farmed with his father and brothers before joining the Army and serving on the east coast. After he was discharged in 1945, Jim went home to farm and was a very active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Macrorie Branch 239. Jim passed away in July 2003 at the age of ninety. MEACHERN, Frank WWI Frank was born in Wimblebury, England. The family moved to Rossland, BC in 1906. Frank enlisted in the Canadian Army and served during the First World War. After the war, he got married and settled in the Arborfield, SK area. They eventually moved with their three children to Trail, BC. Frank is deceased.
