The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 321 McLAREN, Walter Dan WWII Walter was born in 1912 in Wellwood, MB. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the war and served in Canada and England. Walter passed away in 1957. McLAVISH, William “Bill” WWII Bill was born on December 26, 1907 in Poland. He joined the Army as soon as the war broke out. He served with the South Saskatchewan Regiment in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. Bill passed away in 1983. McLEOD, Annabel WWII Annabel was born in Macoun, SK on April 14, 1912. She was the daughter and the youngest child of Hugh and Christy Belle McLeod. She was a member of the first grade 12 class to graduate from the Macoun School and went on to train and graduate as a nurse from the Winnipeg General Hospital in 1938. She went to Minneapolis University Hospital to be Head Nurse on the medical floor. In 1943, Annabel returned to Canada and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. After the war, Ms. McLeod became a Public Health Nurse and worked in Vancouver until she retired in 1973. She continued to live in Vancouver until her death on September 5, 2000.
