The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 309 McCREA, Maurice WWII Maurice was born on June 1, 1922 in St. Paul de Metis, AB. He moved with his parents to Zenon Park, SK in 1934. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on June 12, 1942 and served with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry as a Machine Gunner in Canada, England, France, Belgium and Holland. He was wounded on D-Day in France and again on the border of Holland on February 24, 1945. Maurice passed away on February 25, 1945 and is buried in Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery in Holland. McDONALD, Cecil David WWII Cecil was born on May 26, 1921 near Lacadena, SK. He enlisted in the Canadian Army with the Regina Rifles in 1942, was transferred to the PEI Highlanders and served in Canada, Alaska, the United Kingdom and Europe. Cecil was wounded in action, returned to active duty, and was later a Prisoner of War for two months in Germany. Cecil received the 1939-1945 Star, the France and Germany Star and the Defence Medal. He married Catherine in July 1953 and raised a family in Lacadena and Elrose, SK. Cecil passed away on April 2, 1976. McDONALD, James WWI James was born on January 10, 1897 in Regina, SK. He enlisted in the Army with the 5th Canadian Infantry during the First World War and served for three years, half in Canada and half in the trenches of France where he was gassed. He was honoured for his bravery. He returned home to recover and then enlisted in the First Texas Cavalry in El Paso. He then moved to the Arborfield, SK area in 1925 to farm and became a Charter Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Arborfield Branch 203. James passed away on January 21, 1985.
