The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 307 MARTMAN, Robert WWII Robert was born on May 14, 1885 and moved with his family to the Arborfield, SK area in 1939. He enlisted in the Army Veterans Guard on August 15, 1942 and served until his discharge on July 23, 1945. Robert passed away in 1961. MARTODAM, Clarence Arnold WWII Clarence was born on March 1, 1916 in Windthorst, SK. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on April 7, 1942 as Aircraftsman 2 in the Transport Division stationed in New Brunswick. While there, six training planes went off course and crashed in the mountains in Maine, USA. Clarence was one of the men who went to find the airmen. He served in Canada until his discharge on October 3, 1945 and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for sixty years before he passed away on April 10, 2005. McCAFFERY, Patrick “Pat” WWI Pat was born on March 4, 1895 in Ballymore, County Donegal, Ireland. He immigrated to Canada and farmed near Kisbey, SK until March 1916 when he enlisted in the Army and joined the 203rd Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. He trained at Camp Hughes and reached France in January 1917 where he served as a Sapper in the 2nd Battalion, Canadian Railway Troops until the Armistice. He was discharged in April 1919 and returned to Kisbey where he married Maud Young. They later farmed in the Runciman, SK area and had two sons.
