The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 295 LOVETT, Herbert Ray WWI Herbert was born in 1892 in Deloraine, MB. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on March 1, 1916, was posted to England in November 1916 and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers as a Communications Linesman. During the next few months, he took part in the heavy fighting as part of the 4th Canadian Division, Signal Company and in 1918, was awarded the Military Medal for bravery. He served in England and Europe until his discharge. Herbert passed away in 1950. LOWE, Robert Henry WWI Robert was born on October 14, 1892 in Woolwich, England. He enlisted in the Army in 1917 and served with the 230th Battalion in France, assigned to the Canadian Forestry Corps. He remained there until the end of the First World War. Robert passed away in Whitewood, SK on September 18, 1978. LUCHSINGER, Philip William WWII Philip was born on March 12, 1919 in Kyle, SK. He served in the Army prior to joining the Royal Canadian Air Force on December 12, 1940. He trained with Tigermoths and Harvards, Hurricanes, Milesmaster and Spitfires. He loved the “Spits.” His flying training stages in Canada were Portage la Prairie, MB and Yorkton, SK. He served in Canada, Scotland, England and Egypt. Philip passed away on December 10, 1984.
