The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 281 LeGRAND, LeRoy “Roy” WWII Roy was born in 1914 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He moved with his parents and settled near Tisdale, SK in 1925. He filed for a homestead in 1936 in the Megan, SK area and moved there in 1939. He enlisted in the Army on February 11, 1943 and served with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders Scout Platoon in Canada, England, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He was wounded in France and again in Germany, was awarded the Military Medal on April 26, 1945 and received his discharge on January 9, 1947. He married Margaret Oliphant in 1947. Roy passed away on August 27, 2005. LEMIRE, Aime WWII Aime was born in 1917 in Willowbunch, SK and moved to Arborfield, SK with his family in 1930. He enlisted in the Army on July 2, 1944 and served in Canada until his discharge on March 24, 1946. Aime passed away in 1960 and is buried in the Uxbridge Cemetery in Uxbridge, ON. LEMIRE, Dorise “Daniel” WWII Daniel was born in 1919 in Willowbunch, SK and moved to Arborfield, SK with his family in 1930. He enlisted in the RCNVR on April 15, 1941 and served aboard the Brandon Corvette as a Chief Cook until his discharge on November 20, 1945. After the war, he married and moved to Smithers, BC. Daniel passed away in 1984.
