He moved to Arborfield, SK with his parents and helped his father homestead, then bought his own land. He enlisted in the RCNVR on June 15, 1944 and served aboard the HMCS Chimon until his discharge on November 27, 1945. After the war, he returned to farm, married and raised a family. Joe passed away in May 1964. LECKIE, Norman Abraham WWII Norman enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in November 1940. He arrived overseas in November 1941 and after some operational training at Londonderry in Northern Ireland and Northern Scotland, he was posted to Canadian Squadron 407, known as the “Demon” Squadron on April 1, 1942. Flight Sergeant, Wireless Operator, Air Gunner Leckie went missing on his second mission in a Hudson Aircraft on the morning of April 6, 1942 over the Island of Sylt, just off the Norwegian Coast. LEE, Earl WWI Earl was an Irishman from Ontario. In 1925, he enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces during the First World War and served overseas until his discharge. He moved to the Megan area and took up his soldier’s grant homestead. Earl is deceased.
