The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 275 LARMAND, Felix WWII Felix was born on January 16, 1919 in Zenon Park, SK. He enlisted in the RCA on October 3, 1941 and served as a Mechanic in Canada until his discharge on June 9, 1944. After the war, he returned to Zenon Park. Felix passed away in 2004. LARSON, Leroy Burton WWII Leroy was born in Rose Valley, SK in 1924. He enlisted in the Canadian Army (Active) at the #12 District Depot in Regina, SK on October 9, 1944 and trained in Dundurn, SK with the Regina Rifles. He left Canada from Pier 19 in Halifax, NS and went on to serve in Holland, Brussels, Aldershot and England during the Second World War. He was discharged from the Canadian Army (Active) on April 30, 1946 and declared to be entitled to wear War Service Badge “General Service Class”. Leroy married Gertrude Petersen of Rose Valley, SK on January 17, 1946, went on to farm, buy grain, and own and operate an Esso Bulk. Leroy and Gertrude raised four children: Larry, Linda, Colleen and David. Gertrude died in 1990 and Leroy, in 2008 at age eighty-five. Leroy Larson was very proud to have served his country. He was a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Rose Valley Branch 214. LAST, Cyril Kenneth WWII Cyril was born in 1915 in Zelma, SK. He enlisted in the Canadian Army with the South Saskatchewan Regiment on July 6, 1940 and served in the United Kingdom, Northern Europe and Holland until he was badly wounded and sent back to Canada. He returned to civilian life in 1946 and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 87 in Whitewood, SK for thirty-six years. Cyril passed away in August 1984.
