The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 263 KODMAN, Lucas WWII Lucas was born in 1908 in Whitewood, SK. He joined the Prince Albert Artillery and served in Canada until his discharge. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Whitewood Branch 87 for fifteen years. Lucas passed away in 1984. KONINGEN, Dirk SPECIAL DUTY AREA Dirk was born in Haarlemmermeer, Netherlands in 1941. He enlisted in the Army and served with 70 Platoon in Canada and Continental Europe for five years, from 1959 until he was honourably discharged in 1964. His family moved from the Netherlands to Canada in 1957, when he was sixteen. Dirk passed away in 2016. KORPATNICKI, William George WWII William was born on March 5, 1920 in Sheho, SK. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Artillery on December 2, 1941 and served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe until his discharge on January 8, 1946. He was awarded the following: 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He married Margaret Malek on July 20, 1947 and they raised two children. William passed away on September 7, 1984.
