The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 261 KNIGHT, William Lawson WWI & WWII William was born on December 16, 1897 in Ilkeston, England. He joined the Fort Gary Horse during the First World War. He re-enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps in the Second World War and was wounded in France. William passed away on September 14, 1951 and is buried in the Soldiers Plot in Regina, SK. KNUDSEN, Al WWII Al was born in Viceroy, SK in 1922. He was a Veteran of the Second World War assigned to the Vancouver Seaforth Highlanders. He served as a Front Line Soldier in the invasion of Sicily, throughout Italy and is one of the many respected liberators of Holland. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion before he passed away in 2016. KNUFF, Arnold WWII Arnold was born on June 5, 1924 in Sylvania, SK. He enlisted in the 2nd Field Regiment, 1st Canadian Division on April 19, 1942 and served in Canada, England, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium and Holland until his discharge on December 1, 1945. He received the following medals: Stars of Italy, France and Germany, King George, and the “Thank You Canada” Dutch Medal. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Sylvania Branch and then transferred to the Arborfield, SK Legion. Arnold passed away on July 22, 2004.
