He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and after training as an Aero-Engine Mechanic in Saskatoon, SK, Toronto and St. Thomas, ON, he was stationed at Dafoe Bombing and Gunnery School, near Watson. SK. There he worked in aircraft maintenance until 1945 when he was discharged on compassionate grounds, being needed on the farm due to his brother’s illness. Stan passed away on October 30, 2005. KNIGHT, James Tervelamy WWII James was born in 1923 in Macoun, SK. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Far East as a Gunner on bombing missions. He served in North India and Bermuda. He later became a Gunnery Instructor for the British. James passed away in 1984. KNIGHT, William James WWII William was born in Roche Percée, SK. He enlisted in the Canadian Army during the Second World War and served with the South Saskatchewan Regiment in Canada, England, Dieppe and France. He received the 1939-1945 Star, the Battle of Britain, the Canadian Medal with Bar and Leaf and the Service Medal. He was mentioned in dispatch by King George VI of England for his distinguished service in the Dieppe Raid. William died there in August 1942. Knight Lake in Saskatchewan is named after him.
