The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 247 JORDENS, Arthur WWI Arthur was born on May 28, 1892 in Fort Pelley, NT. After his schooling he farmed with his younger brother west of Whitewood, SK. He joined the 28th Battalion in 1915, serving in England and France before being severely wounded on December 24, 1916 at the Battle of Lens. He received his discharge on December 8, 1918 and returned to Canada. He purchased land southwest of Whitewood from the Veterans’ Land Act, married his wife Jessie on July 21, 1920 and they raised three children. Arthur passed away on January 16, 1962. KAKISH, John WWII & KOREAN WAR John was born in 1926 in Brandon, MB. He enlisted with the PPCLI during the Second World War, and served with the RCEME during the Korean War. He was issued the War Service Badge “Service Class,” and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal for Korea. John passed away in 1978. KAZMIRAK, Alyash “Alec” WWII Alec was born in 1922 in Poland. He enlisted in the Army in February 1943 and trained at Suffield, AB and Halifax, NS. He served with the RCA and the Infantry and served thirteen months in Canada before receiving a medical discharge in April 1944. He participated in Top Secret Chemical Testing experiments. Alec passed away in 1980.
