He served in northern France and was wounded in battle, losing his right leg. He had been very active over the years with the War Amputees of Canada. Bertie passed away in 2001. JOHNSON, John Andrew WWI John was born on November 7, 1886 in Guttenberg, Sweden. He was the only son and one of three children born to Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson of the Macoun, SK area. John served during the First World War. After the war, he worked on the family farm until he passed away in Estevan, SK. JOHNSTON, Ronald Bernard WWII Ronald was born in Ladstock District near Bankend, SK in 1921. Corporal Ronald Johnston served in Canada during the Second World War with the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Wireless Operator from January 16, 1942 to September 15, 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 170 in Castlegar, BC. Ronald passed away in 1988.
