The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 229 HUBELIT, Willard “Bill” WWII Bill was born on May 14, 1917 in Sheho, SK. He enlisted in Toronto in the Canadian Army with the Royal Canadian Field Artillery Unit No. 2DD (AF), R-Wing No. 1 Coy on December 14, 1942. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He received the 1939-1945 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the War Medal 1939-1945. Bill passed away on January 23, 1997 and is buried at St. John Berchmans Roman Catholic Church in Rossport. His first wife, Florence predeceased him, and his second wife Josephine died shortly after his death. HUBER, Walter L. WWII Walter was born in Serath, SK on July 19, 1918. He joined the Army and served as Trooper with the 17th Duke of York’s Royal Canadian Hussars during the Second World War. Walter was killed in action in a landmine incident returning to base on May 12, 1945. He is buried in Holten Canadian War Cemetery in Holland. Huber Lake in Northern Saskatchewan has been named after him. HUDON, Adrien WWI Adrien was born in 1894 in Kamouraska, Quebec. He went with his father and brother to Zenon Park, SK in 1912 to file for homesteads. He enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1917 and served until 1919. Adrien passed away in Arborfield, SK.
