He enlisted in the Army on July 6, 1943 and served with the 1st Hussars as a Gunner-Operator in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe until his discharge in 1946. He received the 1939-1945 France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Edwin passed away on April 28, 1977 in Sintaluta, SK at the age of fifty-two. HOFFMAN, Henry Charles WWII Henry was born on May 4, 1920 in Plummer, Minnesota, USA. He went to Sheho, SK when he was six years old and received his education at Sheho School. He joined the Canadian Army Active on January 22, 1942 and served with the Canadian Light Anti Air Craft 88th Battery in Canada, Great Britain, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany until his discharge on January 18, 1946. He received the 1939-1945 Star, the Italy Star, the Defence Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Henry passed away on April 29, 1968. HOLDSTOCK, Steve WWII Steve was born in 1913 in Lockwood, SK. He moved to the Arborfield, SK area in 1932, enlisted in the Army on March 12, 1943 and served with the 12th Division Tank Corps. Steve was killed in action on June 6, 1944, D-Day in Dieppe. He is buried in the Canadian War Cemetery near Reviers, France. He received the following medals: Star of France, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, and King George Medal.
