The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 221 HERDMAN, Charles John Kent WWI Charles and his twin brother Frederick were born on July 20, 1894 in Toronto, Ontario. They both enlisted in the Army with the Saskatchewan Regiment on April 10, 1916 in Regina, SK. While serving on the Front Lines, he lost a hand. Charles passed away on May 18, 1953 and is buried in Wanakena Cemetery. HERDMAN, Frederick William WWI Frederick and his twin brother Charles were born on July 20, 1894 in Toronto, Ontario. They both enlisted in the Army with the Saskatchewan Regiment on April 10, 1916. Frederick was killed in action on September 16, 1918 and is buried in the Duisans British Cemetery, west of Arras, Pas-de-Calais, France. HERDMAN, Samuel Gordon WWI & WWII Samuel was born on April 19, 1892 in York County, Ontario. He served with the 84th Battalion overseas during the First World War. His Meritorious Service Medal was presented by the Governor General at Queen’s Park after the war. His death was hastened by gassing he endured at Vimy. Samuel passed away on October 10, 1945 in Prince Albert, SK and is buried in Big River, SK where he resided.
