The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 215 HAWES, Fred WWII Fred enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on August 11, 1941 and served as a Mechanic in Canada and Alaska until his discharge on November 1, 1945. He had married before the war and was an elevator agent before he took up a homestead. Fred is deceased. HAWLEY, Bert WWII Bert was born in Cloyne, Ontario. He moved to the Arborfield, SK area in 1910 with his family to homestead. He married Marriel Alice Edward in 1926 and later purchased a homestead where they raised ten children. He enlisted in the Army on February 6, 1942 and served with the RCE in Canada until his discharge on October 7, 1942. Bert is deceased. HEAD, Perry WWII Perry was born in 1923. He enlisted in the Army with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles on June 1, 1943 and served in Canada, France, Belgium and Holland. Perry was killed in action on October 15, 1944 in Holland. He is buried in the Adegem Canadian War Cemetery in Belgium.
