The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 201 GUNN, Myron “Mydie” WWI Myron was born on August 29, 1897 in Coboconk, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in Huntsville, Ontario on August 2, 1915 and was stationed at Galt and Camp Borden, ON under Col. D.M. Grant in the Canadian Army Service Corps. He served with the 122nd Battalion CEF. Myron moved out west in 1928, married Mabel Williams in 1930 and had four children: Lloyd, Audrey, Marion and Don. He served in England and France until his discharge on March 22, 1919. Myron passed away on May 9, 1991. GUSTAFSON, Carl WWII Carl is the son of Peter and Amelia Gustafson and was born on October 28, 1915 on the family farm. He attended Macoun School and then went to work at various places in and outside of Saskatchewan. In the spring of 1943, Carl joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and became an Airframe Mechanic. He trained in Regina, Brandon and Yorkton, SK and St. Thomas, ON. After serving, Carl went home to farm, married Mary Bader and together they had three children. Carl continued to serve his community over the years on various boards including for his church and the school. Carl passed away in 1986. HAINES, Robert “Bob” WWI Bob was born on December 17, 1899 in Wingham, Ontario. He moved to the Jordan River, SK area in 1912 with his brother to file for homesteads. He enlisted in the Army in December 1916 and served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force, 190th Battalion in France where he was wounded and suffered from gas inhalation. On February 28, 1919, he returned to farm in Jordan River. Bob passed away on January 15, 1971.
