The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 193 GRAINGER, Clarence Clarence served as a Truck Driver in the Canadian Army. After the war, he continued to work with heavy equipment until he was killed in a “cat” roll-over in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. GRAINGER, Frank WWII Frank joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, remaining there until the war’s end. He trained for the most part in England as a Navigator and was later stationed in Egypt. One of his most frightening times was flying twenty feet over the ocean. Frank vividly recalls living in tents while in Egypt and stopping in New York City, USA on his way home. He sustained an arm injury in the war that bothered him all of his life. Frank lived in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. GRAY, Robert “Jim” WWII Jim was born on April 8, 1921 in Keyes, MB. He moved to the Arborfield, SK area with his family in 1932. He enlisted in the Army with the RCE 5th Field Company on September 27, 1941. He served as a Carpenter in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany until his discharge on November 29, 1945. After the war, he married and moved to Prince George, BC. Jim passed away on November 9, 1997.
