The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 17 receiving an Honourable Mention are displayed in the foyer of the House of Commons during the annual Remembrance period in November. As well, The Legion sponsors a trip to Ottawa for the Senior winners to attend the National Remembrance Day service where they place a wreath on behalf of the youth of Canada. They also have an opportunity to meet and visit with the Governor General. Teaching Guide – free to primary and secondary schools to assist them in imparting information to their students about the tradition of Remembrance. Among the many other ways our branches Remember is by maintaining the many cenotaphs and monuments around the province. Community Track and Field Camp – In its 52nd year, this five-day summer camp welcomes up to 200 high-school-aged athletes from across the province, after which some go on to compete at our national meet. For more information, contact your local branch. Scholarships and Bursaries – Each branch has an opportunity to offer its own bursaries and scholarships. Saskatchewan Command also offers bursaries and scholarships, for residents of Saskatchewan in their first year at a post-secondary institution. Branch Sports – Branches may offer such sports as bowling, cribbage, curling, darts, 8-ball pool and golf. Our branches also support their local communities by volunteering, donating funds, hosting events, and a slew of other diverse activities. They are also a point of contact for veterans.
