He moved to Arborfield, SK in 1933 with his mother and sister and enlisted in the Canadian Army with the Canadian Corps Signals on March 10, 1942. He was transferred to the South Saskatchewan Regiment and served in Canada, England, France and Belgium until his discharge in 1945. After the war, he was married and worked in hardware at a garage. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Arborfield Branch 203. Gordon passed away in April 1984. FRIJOUF, James Edward “Jim” WWII James was born on April 30, 1925 and was one of six children born to Frank and Julia Frijouf of the Macoun area in Saskatchewan. James served with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1943 to 1945 and returned to farming upon demobilization. He also worked for the Macoun & Estevan Co-Op. In 1952, James and Laura Dunnett were married and they had four children. James passed away on January 19, 2013 and is buried in the Macoun Cemetery. FRISKE, Arthur WWII Arthur was born on February 9, 1924 in Watrous, Saskatchewan and moved to Arborfield, SK in 1937. He enlisted in the Army with the South Saskatchewan Regiment on November 7, 1941 and served as a Sniper in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland where he was wounded, and Germany until his discharge on October 20, 1945. After the war, he married and moved to Prince George, BC. Arthur passed away in July 1988.
