The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 159 EDE, William Howard WWII Howard was born on February 15, 1898 in St. Austell, Cornwall, England. He came to Canada when he was five years old and grew up in Treverbyn Farm in Whitewood, SK. He enlisted with the South Saskatchewan Regiment in 1940. He was transferred to the 1st Canadian Unit in July 1942 and in June 1943, he was posted as Armourer to First Division, the Eighth Army, Central Mediterranean Forces. He served in Canada, Britain, Sicily, Italy, Belgium, Holland and Germany until his discharge in October 1945. Howard passed away on September 19, 1992 in Kelowna, British Columbia. EDWARDS, Art WWII Art was born in 1920 and attended Old Arborfield School and later zenon Park School in Saskatchewan. He helped his father on the homestead, enlisted in the Army on December 16, 1942 and served in Canada until his discharge on January 22, 1945. After the war, he was married and moved the family to the homestead where he began mixed farming until 1979 when he retired to zenon Park. Art is deceased. EVANS, John WWII John was born in Lucky Lake, SK in 1916. He enlisted in the Army and served with the RCEME in England and Europe during the Second World War. John was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Lucky Lake Branch 209 for thirty-five years prior to his death in 1981.
