The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 153 DUBOIS, Paul WWII Paul was born in 1918 in zenon Park, SK. He enlisted with the Regina Rifles Regiment on April 17, 1941. He served as a Driver in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, until his discharge on December 14, 1945. After the war, he married and became a butcher. Paul passed away in 1968. DUFFIELD, Elgin John Henry WWII Elgin was born in 1918 in Central Butte, SK to Alfred and Sarah Duffied. He moved with his family to the Semans, Saskatchewan area in 1938. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941 and was stationed in Toronto for the duration of the Second World War. He was involved in transport, the maintenance and repair of military vehicles. Over the course of his career in the RCAF, Elgin was stationed in Germany, North Bay, Ontario and Alsask, SK. In 1947, he married Irene Hawkes of Govan, SK. After retiring from the Armed Forces, Elgin settled in Calgary, AB where he was employed by Nova. From Calgary, he retired to Vernon, BC where he lived until his death in March 2007. DUFFIELD, Murray Douglas WWII Murray was born in 1922 at Central Butte, Saskatchewan, to Alfred and Sarah Duffield. In 1938, he moved with his family to the Semans, SK area where he worked for a local farmer as a young man. He enlisted in the Army in 1941 and was posted to Quebec after basic training. Murray served with the Military Police, then was sent to the North Shore Regiment of New Brunswick, and went overseas. While stationed in France, he was fatally wounded in a land mine explosion on September 22, 1944. Murray is buried in the Calais Canadian War Cemetery, Leubringhen, Pas-de-Calais, France. A lake in Northern Saskatchewan, Duffield Lake, is named in honour of Murray, and his name and picture appear on the Honour Roll at The Royal Canadian Legion Semans Branch.
