The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 149 DICK, Charles Graham Perry WWII Charles was born in Ladstock District near Leslie, SK in 1905. He enlisted in the Army at 12 A District Depot in Saskatoon, SK and served in England and Continental Europe during the Second World War. Lance Corporal Charles G. P. Dick was discharged on March 18, 1946. Most of his time served was in the United Kingdom, but he spent some time as an electrician with The Hillbilly Blues, Canadian Army Shows, entertaining the troops mostly in Belgium and Holland. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 39 in Swan River, Manitoba. Charles passed away in 1969. DINNELL, Stewart “Scotty” WWI Scotty came to Canada in 1906 from Scotland with his wife Agnes and son Bill. They lived in the Saskatoon, SK area until the war broke out. He enlisted in the Army and served with the 8th Battalion overseas until his discharge. In 1929, he filed for a homestead in the Connell Creek area and in 1932, the family moved to Arborfield, SK and built a house. Scotty passed away on November 7, 1948; his funeral was the first Legion Military Funeral in the Arborfield District. DIXON, Henry Ward WWII Henry was born in 1918 in Lorlie, SK. He enlisted in the Army in 1940 for training. He transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Mossbank, Trenton, Lethbridge and Calgary as a Motor Mechanic until his discharge in 1944. After his discharge, he returned to the family farm. Henry passed away in 2001.
