He enlisted in the Army and served with the 2nd and 3rd Battalion, Regina Rifles in Canada and the Saskatoon Light Infantry M.G. in Italy, Belgium and Holland during the Second World War. He also served in the Reserves from 1951 to 1972. Robert has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion TVS Dr. H. Anderson Memorial Branch 78 for seventy years. CROWE, Robert Meikle WWI & WWII Robert was born in Devon, England in 1889. He served in the Army with the 46th Battalion in England, France and Belgium during the First World War. Robert was at the Canal du Nord on September 26, 1918. He also commanded the 2nd Battalion RR Regiment Reserves during the Second World War. He was awarded the Military Cross. Robert was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion TVS Dr. H. Anderson Memorial Branch 78 for eighteen years. Robert passed away in 1971. CURRAN, George Thomas WWII George was born in 1923 in Moose Jaw, SK and grew up in Coronach, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1942 and had basic training on the HMCS Queens in Regina, SK and Victoria, BC. He served aboard the HMCS Prince David for the rest of the war on the high seas, in Italy, Greece, France and in the Atlantic until his discharge in 1946. He returned home to Coronach where he married, raised a family and ran a fuel business for fifty years. George was a faithful member of The Royal Canadian Legion Coronach Branch 268 for fifty-five years before he passed away on August 7, 2006.
