The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 123 BURNS, Robert WWII Robert was born in Prince Albert, SK on September 21, 1915. He joined the Army and served with the P.A. Volunteers C.A.(A) in Canada and the United Kingdom during the Second World War. Private Burns served at #12 D.D. Regina, #13 D.D. Calgary and #12 District Depot RQOD. He served from May 13, 1942 to October 16, 1945 when he was honourably discharged. He was a member of Wakaw Legion Branch 195. Robert passed away on December 27, 1966. BURT, Stanley BOER WAR & WWI Stanley was born on November 15, 1882 in Devizes, England. He fought in the Boer War in Africa. He came to Canada in 1913 and homesteaded in Saskatchewan. He served with the No. 9 Platoon, 65th Battalion from 1916-1918. He was wounded but returned home safely. He moved to British Columbia in 1947 where he lived until he passed away in August 1972. CARBNO, William Stanley WWII William was born in Plum Hollow, Ontario in 1904. He enlisted in the Canadian Army and served with the 315th Royal Canadian Engineers in Canada and England during the Second World War. He suffered a broken ankle while serving in England as Defence for the Buckingham Palace. He was medically discharged in February 1944 due to a chronic lung problem. After the war, he bought a small farm and as well as farming, he worked as a carpenter at Nut Mountain, SK. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Lint Law Branch 23. William passed away in 1977.
