The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 119 BRUNTON, Milton L. WWII Milton was born on December 21, 1921 in Parkside, SK. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and was stationed mostly in Ontario and trained as a mechanic. He served in Canada until his discharge in 1945. Milton passed away on December 28, 2003. BUCHANAN, Alex WWII Alex was the son of Finlay and Kate Buchanan who moved to the Macoun district of Saskatchewan from the south end of the Hebrides (the western isles of Scotland) in 1923. Alex was one of five children in his family. He joined the Regina Rifles in Regina, SK and later served with the Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment of Perth, ON. He saw service in England and Italy. After the war, and some electrical training, he took on work with the Saskatchewan Power Corporation, working there for thirty-five years. Alex married Wilmer Ferner of Sedley, SK and they had three children. Alex lived in Regina. BUCHANAN, John WWII John was the fourth child of Finlay and Kate Buchanan who moved to the Macoun district of Saskatchewan from the south end of the Hebrides (the western isles of Scotland) in 1923. During the war, he served with the Survey Regiment in England and Europe. At the end of the war, John returned to Vancouver, BC, to his wife, Anne (Gallagher) formerly from Swift Current, SK. Anne later died in a car accident. John retired as a Customs Inspector and lived in Burnaby, BC with his second wife, Katherine and family.
