He served with the Army in France during the First World War and he served in Canada during the Second World War. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Abernethy Branch. Jack passed away in 1967. BRANN, Robert Austin WWII Robert was born in Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Army and served in England and Holland during the Second World War. Robert passed away in 1992. BRAUN, David Robert William AFGHANISTAN David was born on August 3, 1979 in Regina, SK. He enlisted with the Canadian Forces in February 2002. He obtained the rank of Corporal and was a signaler with 1 Platoon, A Company, 2nd Battalion Princess Patriciaʼs Canadian Light Infantry, stationed at CFB Shilo. His first tour was to Bosnia in 2003 before being deployed to Afghanistan in early August 2006. On August 22, 2006, David was killed by a suicide bomber at Kandahar. He received the following medals: NATO Former Yugoslavia Medal, Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, and posthumously, General Campaign Star.
