The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 99 BLOOR, Alfred Clarence “Bud” WWII Bud was born on February 12, 1920 on the family farm, one mile south of Oungre, SK. He enlisted with the R.C.C.S. Corps on June 21, 1941. He served in Canada, England, France, Italy, Belgium and Holland, with the 5th Division Signals. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the War Medal 1939-1945, the Defence Medal, the 1939-1945 Star, the Italy Star and the France and Germany Star for his service. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion in 1946 at Branch 306. Bud passed away on July 8, 2007. BLOOR, Charles WWII Charles was born in 1917 at the farm homestead near Oungre, SK. He was called into service on February 5, 1942 with the Regina Riflemen. He spent some time in Regina, SK, Terrace, BC and Nanaimo, BC before going overseas in 1944. While overseas he served in England, France and Holland before being discharged on March 21, 1946. He farmed at Oungre upon returning home, and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 306. Charles passed away in 1979. BLOOR, Elmer WWII Elmer was born in 1913 in Oungre, SK. He was called into service in February of 1943 and spent some time in Regina, Prince Albert and Calgary, AB before going overseas. He served in England, Italy, France and Holland before his discharge in March 1946. He went home to Oungre after the war and helped on the farm until he married and moved to Brandon, Manitoba. Elmer passed away in 2003.
