The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 77 CAMPBELL, Elvin Vincent WWII Elvin was born on January 2, 1913 in Shilo, ON. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on May 6, 1939. He served in England during the Second World War until his discharge on February 12, 1947. He met and married Monica Murphy in Halifax, NS in 1942. They raised seven children together in Tompkins, SK. He received the following medals for his service: Defense Medal, War Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the Pilots Flying Badge. Elvin passed away on September 23, 1967. CAOUETTE, Armand WWII Armand was born on October 3, 1915 in Arborfield, SK. He enlisted with the Army, R.C.E., 1st Field Company on July 29, 1941 during the Second World War. He served as Sapper in Canada, Sicily, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. He was also a Pacific Volunteer and received his discharge on November 16, 1945. He received the following medals for his service: Stars of Italy, Germany and France, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, Defense Medal, King George, and the Dutch “Thank You Canada” Medal. He was a Life Member of the Arborfield Legion Branch and received his 60-year pin in 2005. Armand passed away on May 6, 2006. CARR, William George Moss WWI William was born in 1871 in Battersea, England. He enlisted during the First World War with the Canadian Expeditionary Force 45th Overseas Battalion in March of 1915 in Yorkton, SK. He was transferred to the 1st C.M.R. 3rd Division 8th Brigade. He served in Canada, England, France, and Belgium and was wounded at St Eloi before his discharge in February of 1917. After his discharge, he returned to Stoughton and later moved to Maryfield and then Heward, SK. William passed away in 1953.
