The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 65 BREWER, Douglas Charles WWII Douglas was born on January 14, 1920 in Saint Hilier, Isle Jersey, Channel Islands and came to Canada in 1928. He joined the Army during the Second World War and took basic training with the South Regina Regiment in 1942. He trained in Artillery in Shilo, MB and in Mountain Climbing in British Columbia. He went overseas from Halifax on New Year’s Eve. He was in England, Germany and Holland and stayed in England to attend the Khaki University. He returned to Canada in 1946 and was discharged from Depot in Regina with the rank of Private. He farmed in the south of Rockglen, SK. In 1963, he went to college and became an Anglican Minister. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for many years and served as Chaplain and president in Melville Branch 61 and was also in the Assiniboia Legion. BRISTOL, Percy John “Bud” WWII Percy was born in Regina, SK in 1913. He joined the Army and served with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in the United Kingdom, Continental Europe and the Central Mediterranean during the Second World War. He received the 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. He was a member of the Yellow Grass Legion Branch 66 for forty years before he passed away in 2006. He is survived by two sons, Larry and Brian in southern Saskatchewan, five grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. BRITTON, Harry WWII Harry was born in 1922 in New Brigden, AB. He served with the 86th Bridge Company, Royal Canadian Army Service Corps during the Second World War. He met and married Rose Baker in London in 1945 and the couple raised eight children. Harry owned a Singer Sewing Machine Center in Lloydminster. He passed away in 1978.
