The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 55 BOECHLER, John A. “Jack” Jack was born in 1942 in Prince Albert, SK. He took basic training with P.P.C.L.I. He graduated in 1961 from MONS platoon. He served with the RCEME Corps in Edmonton, AB; Victoria, BC and Kingston, ON. He was serving at 1st Field Workshop, Currie Barracks in Calgary, AB when he was released. He is a past president of Spiritwood Legion Branch 182 and has been a member for sixteen years. BOLIANATZ, Julia Velma Maxinne WWII Maxinne was born in 1919 in Avonlea District, SK where her parents farmed. She joined in March of 1942 during the Second World War and worked in the officers’ mess of the Royal Canadian Air Force Women’s Division as Corporal, Stewardess and Leading Aircraftwoman. She had her manning at 6 M.D. on Jarvis Street in Toronto and then went west again to Brandon, No. 12 S.F.T.S. where she stayed until July of 1942, posted to this station in August of 1942. She also served in Gander, NL. Maxine comes from a family of ten and the three eldest of whom, including her brother and sister were in service. Her brother was in the Navy. She married Robert S. Gillard and moved to Scarborough, ON where they lived from 1946 to 2003. Maxinne passed away in 2003. BOLIANATZ, Marjorie Helen WWII Marjorie was born in 1921 in Avonlea District, SK where her parents farmed. She joined in August of 1942 and served as a waitress in the officers’ mess of the Royal Canadian Air Force Women’s Division on a ferry from British Columbia to Seattle and in Gander, NL during the Second World War. She shares the distinction of being chosen for the first of the W.D’s famed Precision Squadrons and toured Canada with that unit. She had her manning at Rockcliffe, Ottawa. Marjorie comes from a family of ten and the three eldest of whom, including her brother and sister were in service. Her brother was in the Navy. She married Charles Kaufman, a Veteran of the United States of America and lives in Willingboro, New Jersey.
