He moved to the Golden Plain District in 1930 and went to school there. He enlisted in the Army during the Second World War and served overseas for five years until his discharge in 1946. He married Myrtle Garland on March 24, 1948. They bought a farm south of Whitewood and lived there for 34 years while raising their five children. They retired in 1983 and moved to Whitewood, SK. Wesley passed away on January 19, 1994. BLOW, Sidney Herbert WWII Sidney was born in 1920 in Arcola, SK. He served with the Army in Japan, Canada and Hong Kong during the Second World War. He was a Japanese prisoner of war for four years from 1941 to 1945. Sidney passed away in 2002. BODE, Rudolph Grover “Rudy” WWII Rudy was born on November 3, 1919 in Sheho, SK. He enlisted with the Army during the Second World War on June 12, 1944 and served in the 25th Field Ambulance R.C.A.M.C. until his discharge on April 3, 1946. He married Lil Feuchuck on October 21, 1944 while on farm leave, and they had five children. On June 26, 1959, he received his Service Medal and Canadian Volunteer Medal and Clasp. He was an avid supporter of The Royal Canadian Legion and was honoured by the General Alexander Ross Branch 77 with an Honourary Life Membership. Rudy passed away on October 6, 1991.
