The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 435 WHEATLEY, Charles H. WWI Charles was born in England in 1876. He came to Canada and started a business, Wheatleys Billiards, Bowling and Barbering in 1909. He enlisted into the 60th Battery in Regina in April of 1916. He served as a Driver, CH328978, 60th Battery - 18 pounders: 14 Bde C.F.A. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Germany Army of Occupation during the First World War. He married Betty Stewart in June of 1924 and they had five children. He carried on his business in Semans, retiring in 1962. Charles passed away in July of 1963. His decorations were for General Service and a Victory Medal. The two major battles he participated in were Lens, by Vimy Ridge and Amiens, France. He was a member of the Semans Legion Branch 108 for forty-two years. WHEATLEY, Charles William Stewart WWII Stewart was born in September of 1926 in Semans, SK. He joined the Navy in 1943 during the Second World War and was in the Navy until he retired in 1968. He was First Class Chief Petty Officer R.B.N. He married in the late 1940’s and had four children. He lived in Victoria, BC. He was an active member of the Victoria, BC Legion Branch 172 before he passed away in 1999. WHEELER, Paul WWII Paul served with the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve aboard HMCS Haida as Leading Coder during the Second World War.
