The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 41 BATULA, William WWII William was born on August 10, 1918 in Insinger, SK. He enlisted with the Army on February 11, 1943 and joined the South Saskatchewan Regiment. He served during the Second World War in Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe. William was killed in action in France on August 16, 1944. BEARDEN, J. Ernie WWII Ernie was born in 1908 in Abernethy, SK. He enlisted with the Army Postal Corps in 1940 and served in England until his discharge in 1945. After his discharge, he returned to his Postal Service Job in Regina. He was an active member of the Regina Legion Branch until he retired to Kelowna in 1973 where he transferred to the Kelowna Legion Branch and was a member for twelve years. Ernie passed away in 1985. BEARDEN, Leslie Ross WWI Leslie was born in 1897 in Abernethy, NT. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army and served during the First World War with the 1st Depot Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment in Canada. He was a member of the Abernethy Legion Branch 26 for three years. Leslie passed away in 1961.
