He was killed in action in France in August of 1944. WANAMAKER, John R. WWII John served during the Second World War in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany with the Royal Canadian Engineers 9th Field Squadron as Lance Corporal from 1941 to 1946. WANAMAKER, Robert Francis WWII & KOREA Robert served in the United Kingdom and in Continental Europe during the Second World War with the R.C.E. 1st Canadian Division as a Sapper and Gunner from 1942 until 1945. He also served with the R.C.A. in the United States, Japan and Korea during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Korea Medal and the UN Service Medal.
