TOWNSEND, John Edgar “Jack” WWII Jack served during the Second World War as Sergeant with the Royal Canadian Air Force Military Police from 1941 until 1945. TOWNSEND, John Franklin “Frank” WWII Frank was born in 1922. He served as Acting Corporal with the 8th R.E.C.C.E. Regiment, 14th Canadian Hussars R.C.A.C. during the Second World War. He was killed in action on August 22, 1944 and is buried at Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery in Calvados, France. Frank’s parents homesteaded in the Wingello District north of Broderick, moving to the Nipawin area in the 1930’s.
