She enlisted in the Army during the Second World War and served with the C.W.A.C. in Sussex, New Brunswick. She married Eric Nerpin in 1951 and they lived in British Columbia until Eric’s death in 1980. She then resided in Paddockwood, SK where she was a member of the Paddockwood Legion Branch 31 for eight years before she passed away in 1988. STROMQUIST, Lloyd WWII Lloyd was born in Paddockwood, SK in 1928. He enlisted in 1944 during the Second World War and served in Canada with the 44th Battery earning the rank of Corporal. He married Josephine Lavelle in 1950 and they had four children. He worked in Saskatchewan and British Columbia. He was a member of the Paddockwood Legion Branch 31 before he passed away in Quesnel, BC in 1993. STROMQUIST, Riley J. WWII & KOREA Riley was born in 1920 in Roseau, Minnesota, USA. He joined the 44th Regiment in 1946 and served overseas in England, Canada and Europe for five years. He was wounded in action and received the Military Medal for Bravery. He enlisted with the United Nations Special Forces and served in Korea. He married Norma Jeffries in 1956. He lived in La Ronge and Paddockwood, belonging to the Legion until he passed away in 1999.
