The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 333 RUSSELL, Harry Gordon WWII Harry was born in 1919 in Brooksby, SK. He toured all over Europe hauling supplies with the Royal Canadian Service Corps during the Second World War. He was a member of the Star City Legion Branch 264 for fifty-four years before he passed away in 2002. RUSSELL, Norman WWII Norman was born in the Meteor District. He served from 1941 until 1946 during the Second World War in Belgium, Holland and Germany. He went overseas in 1944 and was on parachute patrol in England. He joined the Fort Garry Horse 10th Canadian Armoured Regiment as a wireless operator. RUTHERFORD, Chester WWII Chester played ball and hockey in Smeaton. In 1936, he joined the Prince Albert and North Battleford Volunteers. In the winter of 1939, the war broke out so he joined the Regina Rifles and served in France during the Second World War. He did guard duty at Camp Dundurn outside of Saskatoon. He was on Juno Beach on D-day where he got hit with shrapnel. After coming home, Chester worked as a Clerk at the D.N.A. office in Saskatoon.
