The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 31 ARMSTRONG, David Ronald WWII David was born in 1917 in Rocanville, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force (AMES 6039) as a Radar Mechanic on April 16, 1941. He served during the Second World War as a Sergeant in Canada, North Africa, Sicily, Italy and in Freetown, Aden and Malta until his discharge on September 1, 1945. He passed away in 1994. ARMSTRONG, James Douglas WWII James was born in Rocanville, SK in 1915. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in June of 1942. He served as a Lieutenant in Canada, England, Holland and Germany with the South Saskatchewan Regiment during the Second World War. He was discharged in December of 1945. James passed away in 1994. ARMSTRONG, John Eric “Jack” WWII Jack was born in 1918 in Rocanville, SK. He enlisted in the 224th (R.A.F.) Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force on April 16, 1941. Flight Sergeant Armstrong served as a Navigator in Canada and the United Kingdom. In 1942, he was killed at Ayr, Scotland in a plane crash and was laid to rest in Ayr Cemetery on November 4, 1942. He was posthumously awarded the Operational Wings, J.R.C.A.F., for gallant service and bravery.
