The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 29 ANDERSON, Leonard G. WWII Leonard was born in 1913 in Whitebear, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with the Bomber Command. He completed 34 operational tours during the Second World War and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) for the “utmost fortitude, courage, and devotion to duty.” Leonard passed away in 1994. ANGELL, Muriel Bernice WWII Muriel was born in 1923 at Sec 22, TP 38, Rge 14, W2, SK. She enlisted in the C.W.A.C. on November 15, 1943 in Trail, BC. She served during the Second World War in Vancouver, BC; Vermilion and Calgary, AB and Toronto, ON until her discharge on October 31, 1946. She trained as a commercial cook and meat cutter. Upon her return to civilian life to her hometown of Rose Valley, SK, Muriel worked in the local locker plant utilizing the skills that she learnt during her time in the service. She is a member of the Rose Valley Legion Branch. ANTHONY, James Roy WWII & KOREA James was born in 1924 in Rivers, MB. He enlisted with the R.C.E. during the Second World War, serving in Great Britain, Italy, and Germany. He re-enlisted with the R.C.E.M.E. during the Korean Campaign. James received the following medals for his service: 1939-45 Star, Italy War Medal, Italy Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He was a member of Legion Branch 2 for 56 years. James passed away in 2003.
