He served in England, France, India, Egypt and South Africa with the South Wales Battalion from August 9, 1914 to March 30, 1919 during the First World War. At the time of his death in 2001, he was Nipawin’s oldest Veteran at the age of 104 years. PAISLEY, Francis Norman WWII Francis was born in 1916. He served as Flight Lieutenant with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1939 to 1945 during the Second World War. He passed away in 1982. PAISLEY, George Harold WWII George served with the Canadian Army Lake Superior Regiment during the Second World War as a Private. He was killed in action in France on August 15, 1944 and is buried at Brettville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery in Calvados, France. His parents moved from Ontario to the Nipawin area in 1910. George attended Sunnybrook School.
