He served as a Leading Aircraftsman with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942 to 1945 during the Second World War. NELSON, John Adam AFGHANISTAN John was born in 1979 in Saskatoon, SK. He served in Afghanistan as a Medic. On June 16, 2010, Private Nelson’s foot patrol came under attack by insurgents on three sides in Afghanistan. Upon hearing of a casualty, Private Nelson, under his own initiative, rushed headlong into the raging battle to reach his wounded comrade. Bullets rained around them as he administered first aid. While risking his own life, Private Nelson displayed courage, composure and selflessness as he rendered the necessary assistance to save the life of a fellow Canadian soldier. NEUFELD, Arthur Jacob WWII Arthur was born on May 12, 1926. He served with the Canadian Army as a Private from 1943 to 1945 during the Second World War. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. He passed away on March 15, 1994.
