The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 281 MURRAY, Richard H. “Rick” PEACETIME Rick was born on November 22, 1947 in Regina, SK. After high school, he joined the R.C.A.F./C.A.F. After basic and trade training, he was posted to Cold Lake, AB with #417 Squadron (CF104,s) then with #434 Squadron (CF5,s) as an Air Photo Tech. After being honourably released as a Corporal, he furthered his education and went into sales and management. In 2009, Rick and his wife Lynne retired to Riverhurst, SK. He is an active member of Branch 213 in Central Butte, SK. NEFF, Norman Morgan WWII Norman was born on February 24, 1923 in Verwood, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on November 5, 1942 and served during the Second World War with #116 Squadron. They were stationed in Gander, NL which was considered overseas. Norman got an award for being the top mechanic in his squadron. They worked on Lancasters and pontoon aircraft. It was a lot of night work so the aircrafts were ready for the next day. He was discharged from depot in Regina on October 20, 1945. He returned to the family farm where he farmed for fifty years. He was married with one daughter and two sons. Norman belonged to the Readlyn and Assiniboia Legions for sixty-six years. Norman passed away in October of 2014. NEHAJ, Alexander WWII Alexander was born in 1922 in Alpar, Hungary. He served as a Gunner on the front lines with the Army Wpg/Shilo in Germany, France and Belgium during the Second World War. He was shot and wounded on two different occasions and was hospitalized in England twice. He injured his left leg, thigh and calf. He was a member of the Wawota Legion Branch before he passed away in 1991.
