The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 25 ADAM, James S. WWI & WWII James was born in Sterling, Scotland in 1887 and attended George Watson College in Edinburgh, Scotland. He enlisted in 1915 in the 144th Battalion of Winnipeg Rifles as Corporal and served in Canada, the United Kingdom and France during the First World War. He was wounded at Vimy Ridge in 1917 and was discharged in 1919. He was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal for his service. He immigrated to Canada in 1906 and married in 1925 and had two children. He served as Municipal Secretary in Semans, SK. James also served in the Second World War as a member of the Security Guard and as Sergeant in the Royal Army Service Corps Reserve. He served as President of the Semans Legion Branch 108 of The Royal Canadian Legion. He passed away in 1955. AGNEW, Arthur J. WWII Arthur was born on April 17, 1916 in Shellbrook, SK. He enlisted with the Army in December of 1942 and served with the R.C.E.M.E. 2nd, Cdn Arm’d Bridge Workshop in Canada, England and Europe during the Second World War. After the war, he served with the 4th, Canadian Armoured Division R.C.M.E. H.Q. with the Canadian Army of Occupation. Arthur passed away in 1991. AKISTER, George Wilbert WWI George was born in Veralum Township, ON in 1888. He served in the Canadian Army in France during the First World War. George was killed in action in Somme, France in 1916.
