He served with the Canadian Army as a Private from September of 1944 to October of 1945 during the Second World War. Clifford passed away on September 15, 2008. McDONALD, Bernard J. “Bernie” WWII Bernie served with the Canadian Army from 1941 until 1945 during the Second World War. He passed away in January of 1945. McDONALD, Lloyd Elgin WWII Lloyd was born on August 23, 1924 in Lacadena, SK. He worked for local farmers in the district until he enlisted in June of 1944 during the Second World War. He was attached to the South Saskatchewan Regiment and was posted to the United Kingdom where he was assigned to Queen Elizabeth’s guard. He was promoted to Lance Corporal in the Military Police in June of 1945 and was assigned to locating AWOL soldiers in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He was discharged in March of 1947. He was an active member of the Elrose Legion Branch 206 for 43 years. Lloyd passed away on June 19, 2009.
