McCONNELL (NICHOLS), Anne WWII Anne served with the rank of Leading Aircraftwoman and served in Rockcliffe, Brantford and Camp Borden as a general duty chef with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942 to 1945 during the Second World War. McCRINDLE, William Donald William was born in 1919. He served with the R.C.N.V.R. as an Able Seaman on the HMCS Athabaskan and was lost at sea on April 29, 1944. He is commemorated on the Halifax Memorial for servicemen buried or lost at sea. He was the son of William and Cora McCrindle who homesteaded west of Codette.
