The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 235 MARX, William WWII William was born on April 12, 1924 in High Prairie, AB and at age 91 lived in a nursing home there. He enlisted in Edmonton in 1944 during the Second World War and took his basic training with the Regina Rifles in Wetaskiwin, AB. He then completed his training in Nova Scotia before travelling by ship to Liverpool, England. From England he was sent to Holland and ended up with the Canadian Occupation Troops in Germany. He was discharged in 1946 and returned to Canada. MASON, Ernest Albert WWII Ernest served from November of 1943 to April of 1946 as a Corporal during the Second World War. MATTOON, Everett Bryan “Jack” WWI & WWII Jack was born in 1896. He served as a Lance Corporal with the 21st Res. Infantry during the First World War from 1916 to 1919 and with the Active Infantry Veterans Guard during the Second World War from 1940 to 1945. His service has earned him the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Jack passed away in 1970.
